Half the mine site is closed. Any building still standing is full of graffiti, the stamping machine gearbox is overgrown and thistle grows over the path, making the site compromised as a historic site, photo opportunity or nature walk. It is a pity because the geology of the ore body is quite unique, different than other silver mines in the Mt Lofty ranges.
Most the path is overgrown and difficult to walk along, a lot of the buildings are covered in graffiti. However the scenery is pretty nice. Be careful where u stand due to prickly plants and animal droppings
